Lagoon

As part of employee appreciation from Good Earth, they gave all employees two free tickets to Lagoon on Labor Day and close all the stores. Of course Jason had the day off too so how could we miss such an opportunity? Dee and Julie were thrilled to join us as well since they had yet to go with any of their grandkids to Lagoon and Julie had a lifelong dream to watch her grandbabies ride the baby boats.
Needless to say, the majority of the day was spent by the four of us watching Jake ride all of the rides in the Kiddie Land portion of the park. Coop is still too small for them, but he was able to ride the train and carousel. He loved the carousel!
He's flying and there's a gun that make noise. What more do you need?
The race cars were his favorite.
Jake was actually barely tall enough to do some of the bigger rides as well. He had asked all morning if he could ride the airplane with Mitch, so the two of them went on the Flying Aces together. Jake didn't like that one, but was brave and stuck it out without crying. I was proud of him. We took him on the log flume and Rattlesnake Rapids. He was not a fan of the big drop on the log flume, but laughed crazy hard every time grandpa got wet on Rattlesnake Rapids. Then he quickly dove under my legs when he saw the big waterfall coming. I was drenched and he walked away fairly dry.
After all that fun Julie and I sent Jason and Dee off to enjoy some of the more exciting rides while we went back to Kiddie Land. I got on the Ladybug Bop with him. It's like a miniature Rocket on the Reentry side. Not much fun was had on that one. Still no tears but after the first drop he kept saying "get me down mom, get me down. Me done."
There were quite a few of the kiddie rides that we could ride with him and they were actually pretty fun.
On Saturday we decided to use our bounceback passes and go with Matt, Megan, Ava, and Will. We did pretty much the same routine, except this time Jake got to ride most of the rides with Ava and/or Will which they all loved. We took a couple turns hanging with kids, mostly Coop, while others went on some bigger rides this time. Ava is big enough for some of the actual roller coasters and loves them, so I got a big kick out of going with her. Before leaving we decided that it would be fun to put Cooper on Bulgy the Whale with Ava there to hold onto him. At first he was a bit nervous, but by the end he seemed to really be enjoying it.
When you're scared apparently you just put your head down. That's
Jake in the red, Will is heads up in the front.
These two crazies, aka Ava & Megan, spin too fast and make people
sick so no one will ride the teacups with them.
I told them to lean in for a picture. Close enough!
Both nights ended with both kids out cold in the back seat before we even left the parking lot. Jake has now added "Goon" to the list of places he asks to go on a daily basis.
