The Start of our Month Long Slumber Party!

Great news! We are finally closing on our house tomorrow at 3! I cannot wait. We will finally, officially be homeowners! Then the work begins. I'll have before and after pictures for sure. You just have to wait for the afters to be available. Now, our lease at our apartment is up on February 1st. Problem? Not really. It's actually working out quite well. During the interim, we have moved in to Dee and Julie's basement, and we are ever so grateful to them for allowing us to. Have you ever tried cleaning, packing, and living in a small apartment with a 6 month old who's mobile and now lifting himself to get into things? Not ideal! However, cleaning/packing while living at the in-law's, now that makes things much easier.

The first couple of nights, the three of us slept in the same room downstairs. Between the confusion of what was going on, and now being able to hear Jason and my every toss and turn, it was a long couple of nights. Needless to say, Jason and I moved up to the other bedroom. It worked, and Jake slept as he usually does. Thank heavens.

As for the rest of life at Grandma and Grandpa's, I think he's loving it. He loves to chase Murray around, and Murray tolerates him well. The best is when grandma comes back from errands or what have you, and Jake goes nuts until she holds him for a minute. He LOVES his grandma! We having to be very mindful to not let her take over too much with him, only because she already watches him while we're at work, she needs her time off too.

We are very comfortable and spoiled where we're at now. It'll be hard, yet very easy to leave when we finish up the house. Until then, I foresee many great naps in the beanbag. Good thing it's a big one, because it gets a little full....
