Well, now that we are back to feeling human at the Cox house, we are really enjoying spring! Jake absolutely loves to be outside playing so we spend most of our afternoons either out in our backyard or over playing with Ava and Will in theirs. Last week it even got warm enough that we could get out the pool and sprinklers. Jake however will not go in the pool alone, and even with anyone in there with him, he prefers to just stand in it. He would much rather just wander around finding things, hold them up for approval, and then toss them into the pool.

Last weekend we went to the Baby Animal Fair. Jake was zipping back and forth to all the pens to touch and look at all the animals. He wanted nothing to do with the riding the horse though, so we just watched Ava and Will do that part.

| Didn't even want to wear the helmet, no way we were getting him on the horse. |

This past week we have thoroughly enjoyed because Jason is doing his week of school and thus is home around 2ish everyday. Loving this so much more than his typical 7 o'clock arrivals. Plus, he has had 2 Saturdays off as well. We've been able to get quite a bit done with him home. For mother's day he dug out and filled a flower bed along the back of the house for me. I still need to go get a few more flowers for it, but even just the fill dirt looks a million times better than the weed filled grass that was there previously. He also was able to fix the couple of geyser sprinklers we had so we could get the sprinklers up and running because our lawn definitely needs it as the temperatures are rising. Other than that we've just been really enjoying our time together with games of Skip-Bo on the patio after Jake goes to bed.

| Fun with Sprinklers |
Today, we headed out after naptime and met Jason halfway home from school to go to the zoo with Megan, Ava, and Will. Oddly enough, In N Out turned out to be a great halfway meeting point so we of course had to grab a burger. Darn! As we got closer, it started to rain a bit, but it lightened up to just a sprinkle then stopped all together shortly after we arrived. It actually turned out to be perfect weather for a zoo day and the crowds were nonexistent so we didn't have to fight to see anything. Also with the cooler weather comes much more active animals. Just about every animal was on the move so they were way fun to watch.

So, like I said, spring has been pretty darn great for us. I just keep finding myself wishing it could stay spring because with the rising temperatures and getting further along with this pregnancy...Oi! Totally worth it though.
PS 13 more days until we find out the gender of baby number two, wishing I knew now though because that nesting instinct has started to kick in. Counting down the days!
Glad to see you back in the blogging world. Love Jakes facial expressions. You've probably already done these things, but here are a couple of tricks to detour Jakes tricks. Put kitchen chairs on top of the kitchen table. Not always convient, but does prevent flooding. And child door knob covers, which reminds me I need to get a couple more of those. Since he can no longer play in the water in the Kitchen sink, he has discovered the toilet. And Nicole and Karlie swiped the door knob cover I had on our hall bathroom, to keep Mason out of their room.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys have been having lots of fun. Jake is getting so big, I can't believe it. That's exciting you're so close to finding out what it is. I always prayed the baby cooperated because I didn't want to wait. :) Good luck with it!!!
