Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve was a blast! Jason got off work a little bit early which was nice. He had a doctor appointment that afternoon to see if there was something more behind the cold he just couldn't seem to get rid of. He walked away with a prescription for a sinus infection and to clear up the tiny bit of pneumonia that was starting to set it.
We stopped just in the nick of time to pick up his prescription, literally as the pharmacy was closing, then went to the mall to look for an outfit for Cooper to wear for his blessing. We found a cute little suit with a bowtie and a vest. Right outside the store we got it at was the play area and ride on toys so of course we had to stop and play a little. Jake made some new little friends while we were there and even walked around holding an older girls hand. Oh dear!
We went home and changed the kids into their jammies and headed over to Chris and Teresa Boots' house for a party with a bunch of Jason's friends. They're always a fun group to hang out with. Jake of course had a great time with all of the kids there. At one point Chris was giving me crap about Jake playing with the dolls and other girl toys. Just a couple minutes later Jake walked past us holding both of his daughter's hands and lead them back to the bedroom to play. Such a ladies man! While the kids were going crazy all over the house, and Cooper was sleeping in the bedroom, the adults played a couple games of Scribblish. It's like a mix of telephone and Pictionary, very funny. Afterwards, we busted out to some Just Dance on the Wii. The highlight of the night was watching the boys dance to "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", Jason lost. Let's just say I didn't marry him for his dancing skills, but he does make me smile when he tries.
We rang in the New Year with a kiss, then loaded up the kids to head home. Much like the Christmas party we thought Jake would crash in the car but he did not. He did go right to bed and sleep until nearly 9 the next morning though and that makes for a wonderful start to the New Year.

  1. Oh Man I would have loved to see Jason Dance. Although I'd wager he is better dancer than his older brother. Yeah Cox men just don't move. Sounds like you had a great time !
